Memorial Scholarship at Maryvale High School

1999 Recipient – Raymond Sroka

"Sroka is a National Merit Scholar, a member of the National Honor Society, and the winner of the Elmira College Key Award and Student Facult Goevrnment, Business, and Music Awards for outstanding academic and leadrship qualities he showed during his career at Maryvale High.

The young man also won a NYS Regents Scholarship, the Tops Scholarship, and the Univeristy of Buffalo Honor Scholarship. Sroka will study Biology this fall as a part of UB's Honors Program. He recieved MAryvale's Scholar/Athlete Award and the Presidential Academic Fitness Award. MEanwhile, he alsow as an active participant in the school's Orchestra and JAzz Band, in the Future Business Leaders of America, the school chorus and Varsity Volleyball team. And, all this in addition to being a three year member of the Spirit of Youth and working with the CHeektowaga YES Program."
