(At left: Cheektowaga Times News Article, July 29, 1999) Mark used to enjoy golfing with his family and friends whenever the opportunity presented itself. Undoubtedly, his sense of humor and ability to laugh at 'bad' shots helped everyone in his foursome relax and have a great time. The image of his vibrant smile, backwards baseball cap (always with well-duckbilled brim) and gaseous laugh will leave an indelible impression in our minds.
In an effort to remember Mark and raise money for a memorial fund in his name,
our family hosted the 1st Annual Mark A. Monaco Memorial Golf Tournament on
Saturday, July 31, 1999 at Niagara County Golf Course. Guests and golfers
traveled for miles to attend the event which featured golfing, food and
refreshments, door prizes, a Chinese Auction, 50/50 raffle, a putting contest
and mixed bag of Western New York weather. We hope that everyone
enjoyed attending the tournament because it was a great success due to your
participation and that of our sponsors and donors. (At left: Cheektowaga Times News Article, July 27, 2000) With your continued support, we will organize and host this tournament for many years to come. As for the golfers, try laughing when you find a beach, water or the woods because we suspect that Mark will be laughing right along with you...
